PARENT’S CHOICE – Voluntary Donations

Are you looking for an end of year tax donation for 2015? Did you know that PTO-TES Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization? All voluntary, tax deductible donations help to fund programs like Art Corps, Science Fair, Science Lab, Running Club, School Gardening, Classroom Grants, field trips and more. You can make your voluntary donation online with a credit card or your bank account through PayPal at or you can send a check or cash in to the TES Foundation. Pay Pal also has an option of setting up monthly payments too!

If you or your spouse/partner work for a company that has a matching donation program, please request the matching funds in order to double your own voluntary donation!  Several companies offer this as a benefit for their employees, and last year matching funds really made a difference.  Please email Martha with any questions.

Thank you so much to everyone for your generous voluntary donations!  Your contributions directly support many of our great TES programs such as Art Corps, Science Lab, Classroom Grants (our teachers use for classroom supplies and field trip costs), and many more. For those who qualified, Parent’s Choice T-shirts will be delivered to your students in their classroom on Friday, December 18th.

Are you interested in a volunteer opportunity in your child’s classroom? How about Art Corps?! No prior art experience needed.

Kids love Art Corps and they make amazing art! Several classrooms are in need of a volunteer or two to help assist with, or teach, Art Corps lessons during school.

Art Corps is about teaching children basic elements of art and helping them to develop skills to understand and create art. It also introduces them to famous artists and important works of art.

As a volunteer, you would help set up and clean up, assist during lessons, or attend lesson workshops and teach your child’s class. Workshops are fun, step-by-step lessons, and you get all the tools you need to teach your child’s class. No experience or art background needed. There are 6 art lessons left this school year, each lasting about 1 hour.

For more information, please email Christie Ashley, the TES Art Corps Director. I will gladly answer your questions so you can see if volunteering for Art Corps is a good fit for you.

Are you able to help out a few evenings and at school three days in March – the 9th – 11th?  If yes, the Science Fair needs you!  The current Science Fair Chair will not be able to be at the school for the days in March that are needed to make the Science Fair a success.  The evenings before the event are used to create/distribute sign-up flyers, organize the participant spreadsheet, and create the directory for the Science Fair. Please consider helping to continue this great academic tradition at TES.  For questions please contact Jerel Zak, current Science Fair Chair or Kristina Hepburn.

Popsicles are sold every Friday after school, weather permitting, and sales help support academic and enrichment programs at TES. The cost is $1.00. Small bills are appreciated! Popsicle Coupon Books can be purchased during the Friday sales for $10.00 (10 coupons plus 2 free). Please note that Popsicle sales will not take place on minimum days or the Friday before a holiday break. Thank you to all of the volunteers who help sell every Friday.
