Monday March 21st through Friday March 25th are minimum days. Please note that school dismissal time is 12:00pm Monday through Friday.  Spring break starts onMonday March 28th and school resumes Monday April 4th.

Please join the PTO on Monday, March 21st at 5:30pm in the TES Library for our next meeting. PTO meetings are held on the last Monday of every month at 5:30pm. We will have our March meeting on Monday the 21st due to spring break starting on Monday, March 28th. Everyone is welcome and would love to have you join. Please contact Kristina Hepburn with any questions.

The next TES-PTO Dine Out has changed from Sunset Ice Shack to McDonald’s on the Thursday before spring break. On Thursday, March 24th the Dine Out will be at our local McDonald’s at 10595 Tierrasanta Boulevard. As part of the McDonald’s philosophy to give back to the communities they serve, a percentage of the sales generated from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. dine in or drive thru on March 24th will be donated back to our school. No flyers are required. We invite everyone in our Tierrasanta/Murphy Canyon neighborhood to stop by, visit with neighbors, and support TES!  Spread the word to family and friends.

We need fifth grade parent help!  If you did not turn in your form in the fall to be added to our email list and would like to be added please email Lisa Saward so we can include you on all future messages. We put on several events during the last week of school to celebrate our children’s last year at TES. We have parents who have volunteered to chair these events but we need some additional parent help on the day of the events. If you are available to help on May 6th in the early evening or June 16, 17, 20, 21 during the school day, please let us know. Contact Lisa Saward.

The APEX Fun Run is a month away and nearing quickly. The APEX Fun Run will help provide our kids with a leadership program that will run 2 weeks in the classroom leading up to the April 22 date of the race.  It is one of TES Foundations’s biggest fundraisers for the school.

This year we are seeking out corporate sponsors within the Tierrasanta community that may want to make a tax deductible donation.  TES is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  In addition the corporation can hang a business banner the day of the race that the company can supply. Do you own a company in the community or know of someone that does please have them contact Diane Chung for more information.

We look forward to having a great FUN Run and are eager to work with many of you in the community.  If you would like to volunteer the day of the race please contact Diane Chung

We are looking for parents to join the committee to nominate candidates for the next PTO executive board.  If you are interested in helping find TES parents and guardians who might be willing to become the next PTO President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer, please contact Amy Day.

Lunch supervision personnel are still needed at Tierrasanta Elementary! Do you live in the area and are available between the hours of 11:20 and 12:15 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)? If so, TES needs you! Help your school and make a little money at the same time. Starting pay is $11.19 per hour and entails supervising children during their lunch period (both on the playground and at the lunch tables).  If you can work all 4 days per week great, if you can only work 2 days per week that will work too!  If interested, please contact Janet Brooks in the front office. Thank you!

A revised 2015-2016 PTO Calendar is attached to this Eblast. Please be sure to replace your PTO Calendar (lime green paper) sent home in September. The newly revised calendar reflects the date changes and added dates for the remainder of the school year. The calendar can also be found on the PTO website. 2015-2016 PTO Calendar Revised.pdf

Popsicles are sold every Friday after school, weather permitting, and sales help support academic and enrichment programs at TES. The cost is $1.00. Small bills are appreciated! Popsicle Coupon Books can be purchased during the Friday sales for $10.00 (10 coupons plus 2 free). Please note that Popsicle sales will not take place on minimum days or the Friday before a holiday break. Thank you to all of the volunteers who help sell every Friday.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Science Fair a great success. It couldn’t have happened without you!

Please check the Lost & Found (located in the entryway to the auditorium or in front of the school) on a regular basis. Items left on the last day before spring break will be donated. If you are looking for smaller items like glasses, jewelry etc; these items are brought to the office for safekeeping.  Please check with school staff in the office.
