Reminder – No School on Friday May 27th and Monday May 30th. Enjoy the Holiday Weekend!
On the evening of the Open House and TES Art Show, Thursday, June 2, TES Grab-A-Slice for Science will be offering the chance to feed your family between 5:30-7:00 pm. Buy a slice of pizza and a lemonade for only $2.00. Whole pizzas will also be available. (Cash or checks only, please.) All proceeds benefit the TES Science Program.
Also, volunteers are needed for ½ hour shifts between 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to set up, cashier, serve pizza, or clean up. Kids make great helpers, too! Volunteering with your child is a great way to “give back” to our school. Please contact Adrienne Prager to say you can help.
Volunteers Needed for Annual TES Art Show.
In search of volunteers to help our budding TES artists shine. The more the merrier! The Annual TES Art Show showcases our students’ artwork over the course of the school year. To make this event a success, we need YOU. Committing to 30 minutes or an hour is a big help. Bring a coffee and a friend. Set up runs Tuesday, May 31st and Wednesday, June 1st from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM, and Thursday, June 2nd from 8 AM – 1 PM. Take down will be Friday, June 3rd beginning at 8:15 AM. Please put your name on the sign-up sheet in the PTO room, or contact Shawn Knepple with any questions regarding the Art Show or just show up and help out if you can’t commit to a time in advance.
The Art Show will be open in conjunction with Open House and the Book Fair on June 2nd. Any help you offer will bring you good karma in return.
APEX FUN RUN
APEX FUN RUN- THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!
Great job at the Apex Fun Run! We are so proud of you and the students, and thank you for your generosity. The students had a wonderful time learning the DREAM TEAM leadership lessons. The Apex Athletes (Stoked Spencer, Adventure Alex and Tropical Trent) greatly enjoyed serving our community and had a blast teaching our students about ….
· Dive In (to their goals)
· Be Resourceful (and solving problems)
· Elevate Others
· Attitude Check
· Make a Difference
Here are the results for the event:
The total donations brought in were $25,735. This will allow us to fund a Spanish teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grade students during the 2016-2017 school year! That is an awesome achievement.
I have included some cool statistics to keep it in perspective:
77.5% of donations were made from outside the parent group
70% of pledges came from California
30% came from outside California
10% of monies go back into the classrooms to help teachers with everyday items on their wish list
That’s a 217% increase compared to the last 4 years combined.
2015 $6500 296% increase from this year
2014 $7891 226% increase from this year
2013 $9103 182% increase from this year
2012 $8962 187% increase from this year
Tierrasanta Elementary has made more this year than the last 3 year’s combined. That is an amazing feat!!!
Once again I would like to thank all of the volunteers that worked the event. I would also like to thank the teachers for helping make the event go as planned. I don’t know about you but my boys keep pressing their “attitude check” button whenever necessary!!! Great job everyone and thank you!
The last day of Running Club will be Friday June 10th. Please be aware that no more tickets will be issued after that date. Teachers will update their charts and final prizes will be awarded during the last week of school.
Additionally, we are looking for volunteers to help with Running Club next year.
* Organize, innovate and expand Running Club; coordinate with volunteers
* Order prizes (assist with determining prizes/prize levels); submit for reimbursement from PTO
* Check running charts and distribute prizes at the end of each trimester
* Morning volunteers to help track mileage (7:15-7:35 am daily)
The more volunteers, the more successful Running Club we will have!
Please contact: email@example.com if interested in volunteering!
